Look at our Garden!
Now that the winter seems to be finally over (crossed fingers) we have been getting busy in the garden. We have planted lots of different herbs: parsley, coriander, basil, dill, chives and mustard. We have also planted potatoes, cauliflowers, leeks and peas for us to eat and nasturtiums and poppies to keep the bees happy. Next week we are going to plant some sweet pea plants and then we’ll be busy looking after everything in the garden by watering it and keeping the weeds at bay. We are looking forward to seeing how it all grows!
Everything is very busy growing in the garden. Today the children in Reception and Year 1 went to have a look (and taste!) at what we’ve been growing. The herb bed is doing really well and we had a taste of the rocket, chives, mustard and coriander. We also got to taste some delicious lettuce – we should have enough for our salad bar very soon. Our potatoes are looking really healthy and should be ready for a feast before the end of term. We also harvested our rhubarb ready for scrummy pudding tomorrow – watch this space to find out just how delicious it was.
