Here at Armathwaite, we believe that learning extends beyond the classroom. Our educational trips and visits are carefully planned to enrich our curriculum, inspire curiosity, and provide hands-on experiences that enhance our students' learning.

Curriculum-Linked Visits

Our visits are designed to complement and enhance our curriculum. Each trip is planned to align with specific learning objectives across subjects, ensuring that children gain real-world experiences that deepen their understanding. Whether it’s a historical site to bring history to life, a science museum for interactive learning, or a theatre production to support literacy and drama, our curriculum-linked visits provide invaluable learning opportunities.

Local Area Visits

We take full advantage of our local community to provide meaningful learning experiences. Our students visit libraries, local businesses, nature reserves, and historical landmarks to gain a deeper appreciation of their surroundings. These visits help children develop a sense of place and connection to their community while reinforcing classroom learning in a practical setting. We also take walks in the countryside, explore the seaside, and have city trips to give children a broad perspective on different environments.

Whole School and Residential Visits

Throughout the year, we organise whole school trips that bring our entire school community together, fostering teamwork, excitement, and shared experiences among students and staff. Examples include  outdoor adventure activities, visits to cultural landmarks, and theatre trips, all designed to create lasting memories and a sense of unity within our school. Additionally, we offer residential trips that provide opportunities for team-building, independence, and outdoor adventure activities, helping to develop resilience and personal growth. Carefully planned to ensure children experience a wide range of opportunities throughout their time at school, our trips and visits respond to students’ interests and current curriculum learning, ensuring relevance and engagement for every child.
