Our Drawings Come to Life with 3D Printing

Our Reception children have had an amazing opportunity to see one of their drawings come to life in a very special way!
One of our parents, Ben, kindly gave up his time and expertise to visit the school with his 3D printer. Ben worked with the children to turn their own drawings into fantastic 3D models, showing them how ideas can be transformed from paper into real objects.
The children were involved in the whole process, from seeing how the 3D printer works to watching their designs slowly take shape. Once the models were finished, the children carefully painted them, adding colour and personal details to make each one unique.
This exciting experience sparked lots of curiosity, creativity, and discussion, and gave the children a brilliant introduction to design, technology, and problem-solving. It was wonderful to see their excitement and pride as they held their finished models.
A huge thank you to Ben for providing such a memorable and inspiring experience for our Reception children!
Islamic Art Tiles
In Years 4,5 and 6 we have been looking at the impact religion has had on art throughout history and we took a particular interest in Islamic art and created our own tiles using everyday objects to indent our clay. We have been busy painting them today, making sure to use a variety of bright colours to make them catch our eye. We also learnt a valuable lesson about keeping the clay thick, so that they don’t snap when dry!
Note to Parents:
Schools have to teach RE but parents can withdraw their children for all or part of the lessons. For more information, contact the school office.
