Moving on to Secondary School

If your child is starting secondary school in September 2026, you’ll need to apply for a place by 31st October 2025.

Key dates:

  • Applications open: September 2025

  • Closing date: 31st October 2025

  • Offer Day: 2nd March 2026

What to do:

  • Apply online through your local council’s website: Westmorland & Furness or Cumberland

  • List your school choices in order

  • Make sure you apply before the deadline
