We have had another fantastic half term and the children have been making the most of our new outdoor learning area. They have also enjoyed learning new skills in wheelchair basketball, developed their confidence in climbing during their Eden Rock visits and of course we are very proud of all the children who performed fantastically at UDance this year. We have had a visit from Zoobidoo where the children learnt about and handled some fascinating creatures and of course we can't forget the amazing experience of hatching and looking after the chicks!

Reminders/Updates

  • As we move into the summer term, please make sure that children are prepared to be outside in the sunshine. Sun cream should be applied in the morning at home and if sent into school, needs to be in a named bottle. Due to possible skin reactions, we are only able to apply children's own sun cream. All children should have a hat in school.
  • There is now a voicemail for the School office, if your call is unanswered please leave a voicemail and this will be picked up as soon as possible. If it is to let us know about pupil absence, we will return your call so that we can speak to you in person.
  • Our Nursery meal prices will be increasing to £2.25, this is due to a rising cost from Orian our suppliers. Primary school meals will stay the same price.
  • Miss Oliphant a teaching student will be joining us in KS2 after Easter, she will be working with Year 1 & 2 alongside Mrs Stamp in a morning and different KS2 classes in the afternoon.
  • Make sure you check out our latest news page on our website for regular updates on activities, trips and photos.
  • Nursery, Reception & Year 1 please remember to upload photos to Tapestry of what you have been up to over the holidays.

Eden Rock Competition!

We are very proud of all the children that entered the Eden Rock climbing competition this year and both teams made it through to the final. The children were fantastic, in true Armathwaite style- supporting and encouraging each other and being a credit to the school. We were delighted to find out that our girls team won the competition overall and we have brought back the trophy to school.

PE kit/Outdoor learning

Please make sure all children have appropriate footwear for PE (trainers) and outdoor learning (wellies/walking boots) in school. Children may be learning outside as part of their curriculum  and need to be prepared all week. Please name all items of clothing to make it easy to return them if a child loses something.

Clubs

Tuesday morning run club will be starting on Tuesday 29th April at 8am - every Tuesday for KS2 children. Children must be keen to run, breakfast club will still run as normal for those needing wraparound care. We will meet in the library, please come in through your usual door.
