What a brilliant end to the school year we’ve had! It’s been another action-packed half term. The children had a fantastic trip to London, we loved hosting our summer fair, and of course, our swimming sessions at Lazonby pool were a big hit! A huge thank you for all your support throughout the year.
We’d like to wish all the best to our school leavers as they head off on their next adventure. You’ve been such a valued part of our school community – we’ll miss you! A special goodbye and heartfelt thanks also go to Mrs Wylie; we wish her all the best for the future.
Summer Fair Success!
We are incredibly proud of the children for putting on such a brilliant summer fair. With your support, we raised £825, which will go towards enhancing our outdoor learning resources and supporting our Global Goals charities. Thank you for coming along, donating so generously and helping make it a fantastic afternoon for all.
Classes for September
We are keeping our structure the same for next year, with subject-specialist teaching continuing in the afternoons. Mrs A will also continue delivering focused maths teaching to specific year groups in the mornings.
Morning Classes for September:
-
EYFS: Miss Price
-
Year 1 & 2: Mrs Stamp
-
Year 3 & 4: Mrs Lake
-
Year 5 & 6: Mrs Gill
Uniform and Footwear Reminders
Looking ahead to September:
-
Children should wear clothing that is comfortable, practical and suitable for outdoor play all year round.
-
Indoor shoes must have a hard sole and have a back. For outdoor play and learning, children need separate sturdy shoes (no open-toed footwear please).
-
Football shirts, jeans and gaming tops (especially those with age-inappropriate content) are not suitable for school wear.
PE and Outdoor Learning Kits
Please ensure children have the following in school at all times:
-
PE Kit: white t-shirt and black shorts for indoor PE.
-
Trainers for outdoor PE.
-
Long-sleeved tops and trousers for outdoor learning (to protect from scratches, nettles and ticks).
-
Hair must be tied up and all jewellery removed on PE days for safety reasons.
School Uniform can be purchased from BeUniform if you would like some items with the school logo on them. - https://www.border-embroideries.co.uk/schools/armathwaite-school.html
Community Use of School Field
We love that our school field is a valued space in the community. However, we’ve recently had some damage to the EYFS outdoor area. Please remind your children that this area is not to be accessed out of school hours. If you happen to see any children in this area, we’d appreciate it if you could let us know.
Learning Over the Summer
While summer is all about rest, fun and making memories with your families, it’s also a great time to keep up with reading and enjoy reading new stories while you are off school. Children in Year 1 and above also have access to Doodle Learning if they would like to do a bit of extra practise at home.

A Big Thank you...
To all of the families of Armathwaite School, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for my lovely present. The tree fern is absolutely stunning and I feel quite overwhelmed to recieve such an amazing gift. It has certainly come to a good home.
It has been a real pleasure working at our school over the years and I will miss you all very much. To all of the children leaving this year, I wish you all the best and good luck for the future.
Many thanks again for your great kindness - Mrs Wylie xxx
