Today we had a fantastic whole school outdoor learning day, making the most of our outdoor space and enjoying lots of hands‑on activities.

The children learned how to start fires safely, talking carefully about safety rules before trying it themselves. They really enjoyed cooking banana splits over the open fire, which was a big hit with everyone.

There were lots of opportunities to explore nature too. The children took part in wildlife inspecting and were very excited to catch a butterfly, which we carefully observed for a short time before safely releasing it back into the wild. We also enjoyed slow worm model building, clay insect making, and a range of creative and practical activities linked to the natural world.

Alongside the planned activities, there was plenty of time for free play, giving the children the chance to explore, work together and enjoy learning outside.

It was a lovely day, and the children were enthusiastic, engaged and keen to get involved. Outdoor learning days like this are a great opportunity to build confidence, teamwork and a love of learning beyond the classroom.

Thank you to all staff for helping make the day so successful.
