Pupils from Year 2 and Year 3 recently embarked on an exciting educational trip to the Solway Aviation Museum as part of their Design and Technology project on vehicles. The visit offered a unique, hands-on experience that brought their learning to life and inspired their creativity.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to sit inside real aircraft, giving them a pilot’s perspective and a closer look at the engineering behind these impressive machines. The museum’s collection of historic planes and exhibits helped deepen their understanding of vehicle design and function.
The trip ties into the current DT curriculum, where students are working on designing and building their very own vehicles. The inspiration from seeing real-life examples and exploring the mechanics of aviation will undoubtedly influence their creative process as they bring their own designs to life in the classroom.
We can’t wait to see the innovative vehicles our young designers produce!
