Our Reception and Nursery children had a fantastic adventure visiting Armathwaite Signal Box! On their walk down, they looked out for signs of spring, spotting budding flowers, chirping birds, and fresh green leaves.
At the station, they were thrilled to see a real train pull in and watched passengers getting on. The highlight of the trip was waving to the train driver—who gave them a friendly beep of the horn in return!
Inside the signal box museum, the children explored old levers and learned how trains were signalled in the past. It was a brilliant morning of discovery, nature spotting, and railway fun!
